We run this town.
I’ve been an avid subscriber to Ipsy for nearly 10 months now and I swear it to everyone I know. This month’s glam bag is Metropolis themed and it’s such a cute twist from the traditional “new year, new me” theme.
What I love about Ipsy is that each month, your products are sent in an adorable clutch that can be reused. This month’s bag plays along the theme of city living and I love the steel blue color.
Normally with Ipsy, I don’t notice any items that really can coincide with one another, meaning that each product can be used as a grab-all bag. However, with the Metropolis theme of this month and “on the go” beauty, the curated products makes sense.
Usually, I’m not in love with the idea of sending out nail polish samples in subscription bags because I’m very “basic” when it comes to my polish choices. Plus, I also hate buying nail polish because I hate spending the money on a big bottle that I might only wear once or twice. But Ipsy is really good about sending sample sizes so I’m not fully committed to adding it to my collection.
Receiving prep products like base coats and top coats are definitely up my alley in interests and this Ciate London GELOLOGY top coat is amazing! I especially love how Ipsy sent a FULL SIZED sample of it so it’ll last me forever!
The formula is incredibly quick-drying, even with a heavy-loaded glitter accent nail, and really helped keep my nails shiny and extended the life of my manicure. Usually, my manicure looks drab on the fourth or fifth day, but my nails still have the same shine as they did when I first applied.

If you’re a sucker for packaging like I am, then you’ll love theBalm! They have the cutest packaging and the overall concept of their products are absolutely adorable. Plus, they’re cruelty-free, which means you’ll have peace of mind when supporting this brand.
During the winter months, I get nervous using powder bronzers because a majority of them have shimmers that warm my skin too much. Bahama Mama is a matte cocoa brown, which perfectly compliments my skin without looking like dirt smeared on my face.
I use a dense bronzing brush and brush it under my cheek bones, across my forehead and along the sides of my nose and buff them out with either my fingers or a dry beauty blending sponge. If I’m wearing my hair up, I like to hit below my jaw and along my jawline with bronzer to erase my double chin.

In order to get perfect lipstick application, you need super soft lips. Before, I always overlooked the real wonders of lip scrubs, but recently have been incorporating them as a must-need in my beauty routine, using it up to three times a day! They’re perfect for sloshing away dead skin during the winter months. Plus, it makes lipstick look so much better!
This one from Jelly Pong Pong is really interesting. Most scrubs are usually just sugar that you can lick off once you’re done, but the shea-butter in this one is less than desirable to taste. It insists on having a coconut and coffee scent/taste, but I don’t get that at all, but more plastic-y than coconut. It’s really thick and almost jelly like. But that shouldn’t turn you away from this product. The shea-butter is actually really moisturizing and leaves your lips feeling smooth.
I like to use scrubs once in the morning before I apply any lipstick. All I do is take the product on my finger, and just buff it onto my lips, preferably in circular motions, then proceed with the rest of my lipstick application. Once I’m done with removing my make-up at night, I pop my vitamins and do the same technique but follow it up with Tarte’s maracuja oil before heading to bed. When I wake up in the morning, my lips are incredibly moisturized.

I had never heard of Temptu before this month’s glam bag, and when I looked up information about the prices, I was surprised to find out it’s actually an airbrush makeup company. Which led me to think, “weird, how will this work with a regular foundation?”
What’s interesting about this primer is that it’s fairly light weight for it being the base for air makeup. I think I was expecting it to be thicker, just so the makeup spray can adhere to it. I paired it under a BB cream and noticed that a little product went a long way. However, using it under a BB cream might not have been ideal to prove the wearability of foundation, but it was light and didn’t make my face feel oily as the day went on.

There are fewer things I love more in life than glittery lids! However, the thought of loose pigment is so scary to me, simply because it seems SO messy.
When I opened my glam bag and saw this pigment in there, I was elated, simply because the shade will go with a variety of colors for a glam look. It’s such a pretty champagne shade that it’s neutral enough to go with so many palettes, especially ABH’s Modern Renaissance!
What’s even cooler about this pigment is the endless amount of uses for it. Anything you can think of will work: Eyeshadow, lip color, highlighter, even nail polish (think of using the Ciate top coat with it!). It has numerous uses and I can’t wait to see how to incorporate it into my routines!
