Break out the SPF and get ready for the longest days of the year: Summer is officially here!
Personally, I don’t love summer but with the never-ending winter we had, I am ready to shed some layers and hit up the (kiddie) pool with a bunch more confidence. Those days dedicated to the gym in the winter really helped pay off for when it comes to my summer bod.
Birchbox delivered with some warm weather pleasures as they packed this month’s box with some new beauty favorites. They’ve got you covered with a primer with an SPF 50, a shine lotion that will keep your hair soft and manageable and a gorgeous metallic blush to keep your bronzed skin flushed.
Here’s everything that was inside my June Birchbox:
This serum helps boost collagen production while keeping environmental stressors at bay. It also brightens the skin and it smells incredibly refreshing, making it your go-to pick-me-up.
It also settles into the skin quickly for those mornings you might have hit snooze one too many times. Its hyaluronic acid leaves the skin supple and moisturized, replenishing hydration levels that might have been left in the sun too long.
My only gripe about this product is its component: It’s difficult to squirt out and when it does, it’s unpredictable on where it ends up. I’m sure it’s because it’s just a trial sized sample, but it’s annoying enough to knock a point off.

When first applying, I didn’t love the smell of this product and when using it on the face, it can leave you turned off. I also noticed that the product is very thick and doesn’t blend out seamlessly. Plus, the neutral color I received didn’t do anything when it came to a color match, not that I think it would have made a world of difference on my set-in-stone opinion.
I love how this is packed with a high SPF so in case your foundation or skin tint doesn’t have you covered, at least you have backup. But that’s as far as I’ll take it when it comes to a positive note. This primer didn’t wow me and I’ll stick to what I’m already using.

Let me just tell you, it’s depressing AF when something doesn’t even come remotely close to your expectations. I’m not sure what my expectations were with a foaming micellar cleanser, but it certainly wasn’t what I got.
It didn’t foam up as much as I would have liked, and it felt harsh against my skin, as if I was just rubbing my skin with water. My skin didn’t feel cleansed or refreshed after using it. No matter how much I pumped out, it felt the same each time.
Nothing about this cleanser stood out for me, therefore, I’ll stick with what I’m currently using.

After receiving that melon blush from my June Glam Bag, I was skeptical of receiving another blush. Especially because I don’t love blush to begin with.
This little guy is a magician because it has the cream feel when applying, but it melts quickly into the skin into a powder finish all while having a metallic finish that adds just enough of a subtle glow from within. I love the formula because it doesn’t sit on top of the skin, rather, it absorbs in and feels great.
Its small, compact packaging is perfect for throwing into your bag to reapply throughout the day, though this guy lasts. A-Boo is a gorgeous peachy nude color that flushes the skin just enough for a romantic glow, which is my preferred color.

As the days get longer, the crazier and curlier my hair will get. With a plethora of gels and creams, sometimes my hair feels like straw and needs some serious moisture repair.
Cue, this miracle product.
It coats the hair in its formula of glycerin and sunflower seed extract to deliver moisture, while also battling the frizzies and giving my hair some much needed shine. My hair felt soft, bouncy and healthy and it gave my hair a slightly more manageable wave when it air dried.
I also love the scent of this because it’s light and refreshing, almost like cucumber melon. I’ve had my gripes with R + Co products in the past, but this has quickly become a favorite.
