We can all afford to be a little more conscious when it comes to our beauty routine: We don’t want to use products that are ‘bad’ for us, and we certainly don’t want to use products that aren’t natural (or as close to natural as we can get).
Sephora is coming in clutch with the good stuff. Every product in this month’s Play Box doesn’t contain parabens, phthalates and sulfates, giving you the ultimate peace of mind.
Here’s what was inside my Sephora Play this month:
The Amazonian clay in this award-winning blush looks as if you just applied, even after a long day. Paaarty is a mauve shade that is a perfect everyday shade, giving you just enough warmth without looking too harsh. Plus, it looks even better with a tan and it’s incredibly silky and blendable.
This month, I decided to dive a little deeper into the Sephora Play section on the Sephora website. While researching, I discovered a new hack for using blush: instead of applying directly on the apples of your cheeks, take two fingers and align them next to your nose. The finger furthest away from your nose is where the blush should start and sweep towards the hairline. This will help lift the face and give a more sculpted look!
I’ve been a long-time lover of this blush after receiving it in a birthday bundle from Sephora. (In fact, it made an appearance in my first-ever Faves video!) It’s one of my go-to’s every morning and it’s nice to receive another sample, especially because I’m close to hitting pan on my original.

This gel moisturizer reduces the effects of daytime stressors so your skin is left more balanced and radiant. In hand with combating stressors, it also helps fight redness and reduces the appearance of pores. A win/win in my book.
Because it’s plant-derived, this gel moisturizer gives off an interesting scent, even though it’s fragrance-free and mineral-oil free. To me, it smells like tequila (or agave, but I doubt a lot of people would know what agave smells like first-hand so let’s use context clues!). Since it’s a gel consistency, it has a cooling effect on the skin, which makes it the perfect refreshment on scorching hot days.
This moisturizer works both day and night and I noticed my skin look and felt more balanced with consistent usage. It melts right into the skin and doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily after a few hours. Plus, I love the aesthetics and this looks cute AF on my bathroom vanity.

Turn the clock back with this formula that will help restore the loss of elasticity in the skin as well as helping improve uneven texture and brighten. This formula contains thousands of “micro-algae oil beads naturally sourced and sustainably produced, omegas 3, 6, and 9, and a natural source of vitamin E”.
Maybe it’s because I don’t suffer from noticeable signs of aging, but I didn’t recognize an immediate difference while using this product. I did love the smell of it and admittedly liked feeling a little boujee using a high-end skincare product.
I knew that this was going to be an expensive product, just using my background knowledge on collagen/anti-aging products. When I saw its price tag, I was amazed. I guess people will pay whatever for a fountain of youth!

I tested this formula in the past, but we know I am always down to retest products with the hopes of falling back in love with them.
Immediately, I remember why I liked this formula: It’s insanely hydrating, highly pigmented and long lasting. While researching, I discovered that it gets its moisture from anti-oxidant algae that helps make the lips look fuller, firmer and smoother.
Salt Lyfe is a mauve grey color that makes for the perfect everyday nude lip. Similar to the shade I tested in the past, it’s close to my natural lip color so I won’t have to worry about eating/drinking/kissing it off.
I also discovered another hack on rocking a nude lip on the Sephora Play section: accentuate other features like your eyes/cheeks to add some color to your face. This way, the nude lip won’t give you that dreaded washed out appearance, even though this lip is pigmented enough.
With the small component, I didn’t notice the problem I’ve encountered in the past where the lipstick would break off. (Knock on wood).

Face oils aren’t something I normally incorporate into my skincare routine, but I definitely could see it becoming an adoption. Who doesn’t love a little luxury?
We know that rose-scented anything doesn’t resonate well with me. This certainly has that iconic rose scent (because in the full size, it has real rose petals in it), but it wasn’t terrible like some rose products I’ve discovered in the past.
Similar to the aforementioned liquid collagen, I didn’t notice a major different on a first impression or even with consistent use. If I did noticed anything, it was that my skin didn’t absorb the oil well and it just seemed to sit on my face. This left me nervous that I would break out, but I never noticed if did.
