Rules were made to be broken 🖤

⏲ Read time: 5-7 minutes

Turn up the volume. Smash the status quo and let out your inner badass because this month’s Glam Bag is all about making a scene and being heard!

This month’s card even gives us an extra dose of motivation by saying ‘The question isn’t who is going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me.‘ Also inside this adorable, edgy and trendy bag is a little reminder that says ‘Rules are made to be broken‘. I love how much attention they’ve paid to detail, because unlike some Glam Bags, this is one I definitely see myself reusing and repurposing.

There’s a lot of products in this Glam Bag to wet our appetite: a delicious hydrating body cream, a miracle frizz treatment and a smoky plum shadow to get us in the mood for the upcoming fall season. There’s a lot of ways to disrupt the beauty norms with these selections!

Here’s what was inside my Glam Bag this month:

HEMPZ | Triple Moisture Herbal Whipped Body Cream

A hydrating body cream that has all day moisture and has an even longer lasting scent? Count me in!

This body cream is enriched with 100% hemp seed oil and is paraben-free, gluten-free, 100% vegan and THC-free, making it really great for you. It’s packed with apple fruit extract and vitamin C to help pull out your inner glow, and it has essential fatty acids to help prevent inflammation and firm the skin.

While aimlessly watching my Insta stories one day, I noticed a friend of mine had mentioned this was her all-time favorite body cream. I had made a small mental note to check it out because I have seen this product elsewhere and was curious about it, and since there was a person in my life that could testify for it, I knew it had to be legit.

The grapefruit and sparkling peach scent is so mouth-watering delicious.(It reminds me of a peach bellini!) Not only does it smell light and refreshing, it is a lightweight formula that doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy. It absorbs right away without weighing me down, which is perfect for those busy mornings. Upon a one-time application, my dry elbows felt much less scaly and my skin was softer and looked more supple and with continued use, my skin was much more hydrated and happier.

As much as I obsess over the Bum Bum Cream, it’s a burden to replenish due to its cost. This is a much cheaper alternative (based on price-per-ounce) for a product that gives similar results and I can easily see this becoming a Fave in its own way.

Marc Anthony True Professionals | Bye.Bye Frizz Miracle Treatment

If we’re keeping it 💯, I didn’t test this product out in time of publishing this post… However, with the luck I’ve had with Marc Anthony products in the past, I assume it’s going to kiss frizz goodbye.

Based on its scent alone, it smells like a dream and its consistency feels as if it will deliver much needed moisture (hi argan oil, sweet almond oil and shea butter) to help battle frizz. It also claims to add shine, which is something we can all appreciate.

I’ve been meaning to incorporate more hair masks into my routine, but sometimes it’s challenging to find the right one without breaking the bank. Marc Anthony products can be found in Ulta at a relatively cheaper price and I’ve been a long time lover of their Deep Conditioning treatments.

Trust Fund Beauty | Nail Polish in Kiss Kiss Darling

Three strikes, you’re out.

In a sense, this is a repeat product (times two). I’ve tested out a few Trust Fund Beauty nail polishes and every time, I have been slightly disappointed. I often extend my mani’s for a week’s worth and these polishes often chip and flake after Day 3.

It’s not to knock TFB because they do have other great products. These polishes would be ideal for those manicure enthusiasts and don’t mind switching their polishes every few days because they’re opaque and super-pigmented.

Kiss Kiss Darling is a perfect semi-deep red to gear us up for the fall season. If I didn’t already have a gripe with TFB, I’d love this shade, but also, I had recently purchased Como Se Llama from the OPI Peru collection, which is almost an exact dupe.

Smashbox Cosmetics | Photo Finish Primerizer

🚨 REPEAT PRODUCT 🚨

But with an updated score! (The last time I reviewed this product, I knocked off a half-point because of its sample component.)

Winky Lux | Eyeshadow in Ursula

Life’s full of tough choices, innit?

One choice that should be a no-brainer is this gorgeous plum shade from the Winky Lux Mermaid Kitten palette. Ursula is a foil shadow that is micro-milled, so you won’t have to worry about creasing.

It’s no secret that to me, purples are definitely scarier than the sea witch herself, but this shade is much more muted than it appears in its component. It pulls more of its shimmer reflect and it blends like butter.

The second I saw this shade, I thought it’d be perfect with theBalm Cosmetic Foiled Again shadow for an everyday fall smokey eye. This color combo might become a go-to this fall season and pairing it with a berry lip could be a one-two punch.

Winky Lux has been a favorite indie brand on this website for a while, but this definitely inspired me to venture out and test out more of their paraben-free, gluten-free and animal-friendly products.
