🖤 on your sleeve

⏲ Read time: 5-7 minutes

Don’t wear your heart on your sleeve, wear it on your Glam Bag!

This month, Ipsy has us feeling a little more grateful with an edgy Glam Bag that’s filled with products that will help enhance any fall festive looks: A gorgeous deep orange lippie that will last through your PSL, a chip-resistant polish to give you a vino-inspired mani and a quick-absorbing dry shampoo that won’t leave your hair feeling caked with product (despite its namesake!)

Be sure to check out Ipsy’s website this month for even better deals through Ipsy Shopper to kickstart your holiday shopping list and also to rate your received products for an opportunity to receive better curated choices in the future as a treat to yourself.

Here what I received in my November Glam Bag:

Cake Beauty | The ‘Do Gooder Dry Shampoo

Do a little good for your locks and give them some Cake!

As an avid user of dry shampoo, one of the most important things is to find a product that doesn’t cake your hair and leave it feeling stale. Even though its namesake might imply otherwise, this is an absolute treat! The spritz on this dry shampoo might be heavy-duty, but it doesn’t leave a white residue and it quickly absorbs oils for when you extend the days between your washes (and if you’re me, that means like four or five days!).

My hair feels refreshed, volumized and I can rest assure that its fresh smelling with its vanilla and caramelized sugar scent! Batiste might be my all-time favorite drugstore dry shampoo, but when I want to indulge, I’ll consider repurchasing this because Cake Beauty is cruelty-free and vegan-friendly.

L.O.C.K. Color | LOCK IT Waterproof Pencil Eyeliner in Pearl Brown

Lately, I feel like I’ve been going through an identity crisis when it comes to makeup. Usually, I’d gripe about receiving a non-black pencil eyeliner, but I actually welcomed this copper-bronze liner with open arms!

It feels more like a gel than a pencil because it glides on with ease, it doesn’t transfer on the lid and it has a long-lasting formula. Pearl Brown is a gorgeous shimmery bronze shade that really enhances the yellow specks in my eye color, so it’s been an everyday go-to with this single shadow.

I’m also obsessed with this twist-turn component so this way I don’t have to frantically search for a sharpener whenever I’m in a pinch, and if you’re really in a desperate situation, you can also smudge this liner out as a shadow!

Pretty Woman | Nail Polish in Wine with Ice, Garcon

🚨 REPEAT PRODUCT 🚨 (kind of)

After falling in love with Pretty Woman polishes, I was really excited to receive this deep merlot pantone shade. I have been opting for doing my own nails because every time I go to my local nail salon, I waste my money because it never lasts as long as if I were to do them at home.

Pretty Women polishes are insanely quick-drying,  super glossy and chip-resistant. Plus, their polishes are comparable in prices to OPI and Essie. Normally, I get pretty skeptical with indie nail polish brands because the quality isn’t that great, but after testing two colors of varying opaqueness, I am a firm believer.

I love Pretty Woman even more because not only are they super affordable so you can build your collection, they’re 10-free and cruelty-free.

Smashbox Cosmetics | Always On Liquid Lipstick in Out Loud

It’s important to find a lippie that will last from turkey dinner to dessert eggnogs.

This is technically a 🚨 repeat product 🚨, but in a different shade I would have never grabbed for myself! Out Loud is a deep orange that gives me a lot of PSL-vibes. Originally, I didn’t think I’d be a fan of this because orange is not a shade range I mess with because I’m so fair-skinned and in the component, it looks more like terra-cotta orange and made me a little nervous.

I was really pleased to see that it wore more of a dark nude and complimented my skin tone nicely and could see it being beautiful on everyone. The wand applicator acts as a liner and a lipstick all in one, which makes it perfect for touchups at all of your holiday gatherings/parties.

Ciate London | Extraordinary Mini Translucent Setting Powder

Remember a few months ago when all of my beauty subscriptions thought it’d be fun to send me translucent powders? Ding, ding, ding, it’s Round Two!

I’m not someone who normally opts for a translucent powder, but when the colder temperatures roll in, I like a heavy-duty foundation that won’t budge. Even though my favorite foundation is pretty matte, I like to make sure that I’m fully covered and set my face with a powder.

This finely-milled powder blends easily and doesn’t leave my face feeling caked. It’s a pure-white that doesn’t give a lot of flashback when it comes to taking those holiday photos.

While looking at the Ipsy website for some pointers and tips, I also learned that this powder can be used as a dry shampoo (which might actually come in hand when we head abroad!). I also learned that it can help make eyeliners last longer and ensures that it won’t fade or smudge, so it could come in hand with that eyeliner we received this month.
