Before we jump right into the beauty trends of 2019, Sephora Play is lettings us reflect on some of our faves from this year!
This month’s Play Book is all about the different aspects that made our Play boxes so unique and exclusive: Think over 3 MILLION lipsticks shipped, 56,000+ views on their January boxing video and over 5,000+ conversations happening in the PLAY! community group. I had no idea just how open this subscription service was and plan on joining in on more opportunities to network in 2019!
This month’s Play box offers some bold beauty and things to help not only prep ourselves, but glitz well into the new year.
Here’s what I received in my December Sephora Play:
Alexa, play Peaches & Cream by 112.
This Sephora-exclusive primer is infused with peaches and sweet fig cream, leaving your face smelling like peaches and cream while delivering an anti-oxidant filled boost of hydration. I was also surprised to see that the primer itself was a peachy hue that melted like butter into the skin. I didn’t notice too much of a cooling sensation, but I was impressed with how quickly it worked at blurring my pores and brightening my overall complexion.
Personally, I think it’s a little steep in price and I feel like you’re paying for the collection. There are a lot of other primers that I would think of picking up before this one, but it was fun to try out a product from a company I used to obsess over.

Glow and behold. This one-of-a-kind glowtion is packed with like jasmine oil, hyaluronic acid, aloe leaf juice and lavender oil. Even with NYE just days away, this would be a great addition to any glam looks you’ll be creating because not only is it a flattering champagne-pearl shade for everyone, it’s also beneficial to your skin!
Around this time last year, I received a similar product that I found myself using sporadically throughout the year. As we know, I’m not someone who opts for a dewy, luminous complexion because it makes me appear oily, so I use this as a spot highlight on my high points like cheekbones, brow bones and Cupid’s bow.
Though it can be layered up, the glow this gives off is more subtle than others. While doing some research, I discovered that this is only one part of the full size duo. The full size also comes with a strobing stick so you can really radiate and glow.

Ironically enough, we started the year out with this product and we’ll close it out with it too!
Since this is technically a 🚨 REPEAT PRODUCT 🚨, I won’t go into much detail about my thoughts, since they haven’t changed too much. (You can read my original review, linked above!)
I’m making a promise in 2019 to start taking my hair health more seriously: After discovering that I’m having a noticeable amount of breakage along my roots, I’m starting to become concern with the overall health of my hair. Incorporating hair masks will become a major part of my haircare routine heading into the new year.

I never realize how disproportionate my lips are until I line them, and then I get real sad because it’s something I’m not so self-conscious about until that moment. So that’s why I avoid them because I can’t confidentially overdraw my lips without feeling like a Bratz doll.
Maybe I’m turning a new leaf this year. Or maybe it just takes the right liner to make me gain some confidence. Sephora has 40 shades (yes 40!) of liners to pair with every lip color imaginable and their formula is super long-lasting and isn’t drying. It also glides over the curves of my lips, which makes me feel more confident that I won’t overdraw.
Nothin’ But Nude is exactly what its namesake implies: there’s nothing flashy about this nude color, but the fact it will help ensure your lipstick won’t budge. Side note: I think I love this particular one more because it’s retractable. Sometimes, something so small or mundane as that can make or break a product for me, and this is one I am really happy with.

Sugar, sugar how’d you get so fly?
With the winter wrecking havoc on our moisture levels, it’s even more important to stay hydrated and make sure our lips are protected against harsh conditions. Fresh offers an advanced formula of their best-selling lip treatments that keeps lips moisturized for an incredible 24 hours, while sea fennel smoothes fine lines.
Dream is a soft-pink shade that wears beautifully on its own, or can be worn under a lip color for protection. The orange extract protects your pout and there’s volume enhancing properties to give you a fuller pout. The formula isn’t waxy, I didn’t feel like I was eating it off throughout the day and it was lightweight like a normal chapstick.
I fell in love with Fresh lippies after redeeming a sample with some Beauty Insider points. After testing out a more concentrated formula, I know that these will definitely be on my ‘future considerations’ list for restocking.

Let’s make a pact that 2019 will be the year we step out of our comfort zones and I can finally become the person who wears red lips again!
I thought when I unboxed this it was the same shade as the red lip I discovered in my very-first Sephora Play on this site, but it wasn’t. However, The Red is a classic bright red and is as close to a true red I think possible.
Not normally a lipstick person, I was surprised with this formula. It’s hydrating and didn’t leave my lips flaky or dried. It’s also incredibly pigmented and one swipe is plenty of coverage.
I had paired it with the liner aforementioned and really liked the combo. The more I test out Sephora’s own brand, the more I realize you don’t have to spend a small fortune to build a reliable makeup vault.
